Join us for the Footsteps of Padre Jose Pilgrimage. A group of 15 pilgrims interested in learning more about Padre Jose and the work he did in Peru will be traveling September 8-18, 2025.

Through this pilgrimage, you will get to know the families, staff, and community at the orphanage, meet people that knew Padre Jose in Villa El Salvador and neighborhoods around Casa Hogar, and have behind the scenes tours in the areas he served.

Pilgrimage schedule will include the following, and much more.

  • Casa Hogar tour and history, including the Grotto where Father Walijewski was laid to rest.
  • Pilgrimage to Villa El Salvador to see the parishes Padre Jose founded and the place St. Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass which resulted in the donation to begin Casa.
  • Meetings with staff, parent teachers, and children to get to know the ins and outs of the program and life at Casa.
  • Participate in life at Casa Hogar, including dinner with families each night.
  • Day trip to Lima, including a tour of San Domingo Monastery, authentic Peruvian lunch and souvenir shopping.
